What RELEASE is

RELEASE lets creators share protected previews of finished work, get paid through a secure payment link, and deliver the original files automatically once payment is confirmed. Payments are processed by Stripe; RELEASE is an independent product and is not affiliated with Stripe or Cloudflare.

Your content, your rights

Creators keep full ownership of everything they upload. By uploading, you grant RELEASE only the technical licence needed to operate the service: storing your files, generating watermarked previews, and delivering originals to clients who paid. Nothing more. You are responsible for having the rights to the work you sell, and for the commercial terms you agree with your clients — RELEASE provides the delivery and payment rail, not the contract between you and your client.

Acceptable use

RELEASE is for professional and commercial creative work — advertising video, photography, design, music and the like, sold to businesses. Don't use it to distribute content you don't have the rights to, illegal content, or malware. Sexually explicit and adult content is not permitted, in any format. We can suspend links or accounts that break this — it protects every other creator on the platform.

Payments & delivery

A payment link becomes payable once the creator activates it. After Stripe confirms a payment, the original files unlock for the buyer: individual downloads with verified checksums, exactly as uploaded. Records of completed transactions (including invoices) are retained as legally required. Refunds are a matter between creator and client, executed through Stripe where applicable.

Paying by bank transfer

Where it is offered, a client may settle by SEPA bank transfer instead of by card. Choosing it registers the order and produces a payment reference; it does not, on its own, pay for anything. The original files unlock only when the funds actually reach the payment processor — typically one to two business days after the transfer is sent, and longer across weekends and bank holidays. Until then the work stays locked and the creator has not been paid.

Each order settled this way is issued its own dedicated bank account details together with a payment reference, which the client is asked to quote on the transfer. While a transfer is pending, the deal will not accept a second payment — this is deliberate, and it exists so that nobody pays twice for the same work. If no funds arrive within 21 days, the pending transfer is cancelled and the deal becomes payable again.

Deposits

A creator may ask for part of the price before delivery. That part is a deposit (in French law, an acompte): it commits both sides firmly. It is not arrhes, so neither party can walk away simply by forfeiting or returning it.

A deposit pays for work already engaged and is not refundable. It is stated on the payment page before the client pays it, never afterwards. If the client later decides not to proceed, or the finished work is not taken up, the creator keeps the deposit and the original files stay locked — nothing is delivered for it.

The original files unlock only once the balance is settled. Each payment produces its own invoice, numbered in sequence, and RELEASE's commission is capped per deal — splitting a sale into a deposit and a balance never costs the creator more than a single payment would have.

Beta status

RELEASE is in active development. We work hard to keep the service reliable — durable processing, verified delivery, honest status pages — but during beta the service is provided “as is”, features may evolve, and we may need maintenance windows. We will never silently alter your original files: what you upload is what your client receives, byte for byte.

Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Account → Security & privacy. What is removed immediately and what is legally retained is spelled out on that page and in the privacy policy.
